Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about requesting solar offers through SaudiSolar.
About the service
Is the service free?
Yes. Sending a request and comparing offers is completely free, and you don’t have to accept any offer.
Are you a solar company?
No. SaudiSolar only compares offers: we don’t sell, install, finance or connect any system. With your consent we pass your request to qualified installers, and the contract and warranty are between you and the installer you choose.
Are the installers qualified?
We send requests to installers who provide their qualification, licence and commercial registration details. Still, check for yourself before signing — see how to compare solar quotes.
How much will I save with solar panels?
It depends on your consumption, tariff, when you use power and the system size, which is why we give no general figures. The installer calculates the expected savings after studying your bills and surveying the site. Start with the calculator for a rough size.
Can I request for a farm or istiraha?
Of course. Choose “Farm” in the form, say whether you need water pumping and roughly how much diesel you use. See also farm and off-grid solutions.
When will they contact me?
Installers interested in your request contact you the way you prefer; it can vary with your city and the type and size of the project.
Your request and what follows
Who contacts me after I send a request?
Qualified solar installers serving your city and type of project. Most ask for your electricity bills and photos of the roof or land, then a site survey before the final offer.
How many offers will I get?
It depends on your city, the type and size of the project and the number of installers available. Our aim is to bring you more than one offer to compare.
I don’t know the system size — can I still request?
Of course. Send the request with your approximate bill or consumption; the installer sets the size after the survey. You can try the calculator first.
I have several sites — do I send one request per site?
No. Send one request with the number of sites, and mention the cities when installers contact you.
Can I cancel my request or change my details?
Yes. Call or WhatsApp us via the contact page, and you can decline installers directly at any time with no obligation.
Is it worth it, and which system
Is solar worth it in Saudi Arabia?
The sun is strong, but the case varies: clearest for businesses with large daytime consumption, sites running on diesel and farms that need pumping. For homes with low bills, payback can be very long because residential electricity is relatively cheap. Read is solar worth it?.
Can I sell surplus electricity to the grid?
The framework for small-scale grid-connected systems allows surplus to be exported through a bidirectional meter at a published tariff, within limits and conditions. The general picture is in grid-connected solar.
What’s the difference between grid-connected, off-grid and hybrid?
Grid-connected works with the grid, off-grid relies on batteries with no grid, and hybrid combines them and may add a generator. Read off-grid vs hybrid vs grid-connected.
Does dust reduce output?
Yes. Dust reduces output, so plan regular, safe cleaning. Read dust, heat and cleaning.
Safety and privacy
Can I install the panels myself?
We strongly advise against it. A solar system carries high voltage, and grid connection requires a qualified installer, approved equipment and an inspection. Leave installation and electrical work to licensed professionals.
Who do you share my details with?
Only qualified solar installers relevant to your request, and only after your explicit consent in the form. Details in the privacy policy.
Should I send my electricity account number or a photo of my bill?
Don’t enter them in the form. We only need a general description and your approximate bill range. An installer may ask for the bill later, when they contact you, to study your consumption.
