1.About the Service
SaudiSolar is an online matching service, free for users, that lets you send one request for quotes from qualified, licensed solar installers, for services such as commercial and industrial rooftop systems, ground-mounted systems, solar carports, grid connection, off-grid and hybrid systems, solar water pumps, batteries, solar lighting, home systems, solar water heaters, energy audits and operation and maintenance contracts, and then passes the request, with your consent, to independent providers.
We are not an installer, an electricity or energy company or a contracting agent. We do not sell, install or maintain systems or equipment, we do not finance them or connect them to the grid, we do not handle any procedure with the Saudi Electricity Company or anyone else, we do not set prices or scope, and we take no payment from you for equipment or installation.
The content published on the Site, including guides, service and city pages and the costs page, is general information only, not technical, engineering, financial or legal advice. Regulations and requirements mentioned, including those on grid connection, approved equipment and installer qualification, are a guide, may change, and must be confirmed with the competent authorities and a qualified installer.
2.Acceptance of these terms
By using the Site or the calculator, sending a request or registering as a partner through it, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
To send a request you must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to contract under the laws in force in the Kingdom.
3.Your obligations
When you use the Site, you agree:
- To provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information, and not to impersonate anyone or send a request in another person’s, a business’s or a farm’s name without authority.
- To send requests only for the genuine purpose of obtaining quotes for a real need, and not to send fake or duplicate requests or requests for marketing or advertising purposes.
- Not to enter ID numbers, bank account details or passwords, including login details for your electricity account or system monitoring apps, or other sensitive data the forms do not ask for.
- To obtain the consent of the owner of the property or land before requesting a system for a property or site you do not own, where this is required.
- Not to attempt unauthorised access to the Site or its systems, disrupt it, collect its content or data by automated means, or use it in breach of the law or public morals.
We may refuse or decline to pass on any request, or restrict access to the Site, where we consider that its use breaches these terms or the law.
4.Requests, quotes and third parties
Sending a request is free and does not commit you to accept any quote or contract any service.
We aim to pass your request to qualified providers suited to it, but we do not guarantee how many quotes you will receive, when, at what price, or that any installer is available when you want.
Quotes, prices, specifications, production estimates, scope and warranties come from providers alone, and any agreement is made directly between you and the provider. We recommend a written quote setting out the system capacity, the class of panels, inverters and any batteries, the mounting, who handles connection and approvals, the timeline, warranties, maintenance and what happens on delay, fault or dispute.
We are not a party to any agreement between you and a provider. We do not guarantee the quality of equipment, installation or maintenance, or its compliance with regulations and requirements; we do not guarantee any system’s production, the savings it brings or that its grid connection will be approved; and we are not responsible for any fault, delay or payment dispute. The provider is answerable for these under your agreement with it and the applicable laws.
Any financing, instalment plan or pay-for-energy model offered by a provider or another party is between you and that party directly; we do not offer or endorse it.
5.The solar calculator
Results from the solar calculator, including the estimated system size, area and production, are rough technical estimates based on data you enter and on general assumptions such as estimated sun hours and illustrative electricity values.
These results are not a quote, not a promise of any production, saving or payback period, and not financial or investment advice, and they are no substitute for a site survey and a study prepared by a qualified provider. They must not be relied on alone for an investment decision.
6.Safety and electrical work
Solar systems and batteries operate at voltages that can be dangerous. The Site gives no instructions for do-it-yourself installation or wiring, and no content on it may be treated as a guide to carrying out electrical work yourself.
Installation, electrical connection, grid connection and battery installation must be carried out by qualified, licensed technicians and electrical contractors, in line with the applicable regulations and requirements and those of the Saudi Electricity Company and the competent authorities.
7.Partner providers
We pass requests to qualified providers operating lawfully in the Kingdom, and when partners register we ask for details of their qualification to install grid-connected systems, their electrical contractor licence and their commercial registration. Each provider is responsible for holding the qualifications, licences and registrations its business requires and for using equipment that meets the approved specifications. We do not rate or endorse installers, and we recommend checking them yourself before agreeing.
A partner registering through the Site confirms that its details, including its qualification, licence, commercial registration, services and the project sizes it handles, are accurate and that it is authorised to represent the business it registers. Registration does not mean automatic acceptance as a partner, and we may stop passing requests to any partner whose details prove inaccurate or whose qualification or licence has expired.
A provider that receives a request must use the user’s data only for that request, contact the user professionally and in the way they preferred, and stop contacting them when asked.
8.Intellectual property
All content on the Site, including text, design, the logo, software, the calculator and the way they are arranged, is owned by or licensed to SaudiSolar and protected by the intellectual property laws of the Kingdom.
You may view the content and share links to it for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, republish, modify or commercially exploit it without our prior written permission.
Names of government bodies, regulations, platforms and brands mentioned on the Site, if any, are used for identification only; they do not imply a partnership with or endorsement of the Site.
9.Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site, its content and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available”. We take reasonable care to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is free of errors, complete or suitable for your business’s, farm’s or home’s situation, or that the Site will operate without interruption.
Information on the Site about grid connection, tariffs, approved equipment, installer qualification, costs and feasibility is a guide only, is not technical, financial or legal advice, and is no substitute for confirming it with the competent authorities and a qualified installer.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Site or the calculator or reliance on their content, for any defect, fault, delay or damage in work or equipment supplied by a provider, or for any system producing less or saving less than expected.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the laws in force in the Kingdom.
10.Links to other websites
The Site may contain links to websites, accounts or services run by others. We provide these links for convenience only, we do not control their content or privacy practices and we are not responsible for them; your use of them is governed by those parties’ terms.
11.Changes to these terms and the Service
We may change these terms at any time. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. Changes take effect from the date they are published, and your continued use of the Site after publication means you accept the amended terms.
We may change, suspend or discontinue the Service or the calculator in whole or in part, temporarily or permanently, without any obligation to you.
12.Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The competent courts and judicial authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or the use of the Site. Before that, both parties will try to settle the dispute amicably.
If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
13.Language
These terms are written in Arabic and English. If there is any difference or conflict between the two texts, the Arabic text prevails.
14.Contact about these terms
For any question about these terms, contact us on +966 50 778 6207. Questions about a system you agreed to have installed or maintained by a solar installer should go to that installer directly.
